Spellbinders | Spring Build a Birdhouse

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the new Birdhouses Through the Seasons Collection by Vicky Papaioannou for Spellbinders. This is such a wonderful collection featuring birdhouses in different seasons, as well as birds and sentiments that you can add with them. For my card today, I am using the spring birdhouse.

I started off by die cutting the Spellbinders Build a Spring Birdhouse Etched Dies from various cardstock. I used a white woodgrain for the birdhouse itself, as well as the fence. I also die cut the house a second time using turquoise cardstock. I cut the roof off and adhered that over the woodgrain one. I also added the heart on to of the white one too.

The flowers in the set were die cut from blues and yellows. the leaves from green. I also die cut the small flower and leaves from the Spellbinders Glimmering Butterflies Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.  All of the pieces were adhered to the house using Bearly Art Glue. The house was then adhered to a grey A2 card base which has scoring lines on it (I apologise that they cannot be seen in the photos) with foam tape. I then die cut the bird from the Spellbinders Sweet Birds on a Branch Etched Dies from blue card yellow cardstock.

I added the yellow tummy to the blue bird and then layered up his wings three times for some added dimension. The bird was adhered with thin foam tape and then I stamped the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Tiny Type Stamp Set on to black cardstock with FSJ Clear Pigment Ink. I applied FSJ White Embossing Powder, heat set and cut it in to a strip. To finish off, I added Spellbinders Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems to the flowers and Crystal Glaze to the bird's tummy and the heart.

There are lots of different birds in the collection. I thought this one was adorable but you could certainly use a lot more in your scenes if you wanted to. I also think the birdhouses would look lovely on their own too. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a lovely day!

  1. What a lovely die set - it looks amazing with the woodgrain effect. All your colours are just so gorgeous together, lovely to see navy blue in there too, it makes a great contrast to the other lighter colours. Such a pretty card, I love it!
