Hello there, I am delighted to be joining
Altenew today to celebrate the new Classic Imagery collection release. This release is full of stencils and embossing folders. I thought that for my projects today, I would share five different ways to use embossing folders. To celebrate the release, there is a fun blog hop going on. More details on that below.
HIGHLIGHTING DETAILS WITH WHITE INK
For my next card, I am using the
Altenew Charming Mandala 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is a large circular design but for my card today, I wanted to show that you can just use part of a folder. I started off by blending
Altenew Glacier Caves Crisp Dye Inks on to the top half of a panel of white cardstock. I then ran the panel through my die cutting machine with the embossing folder, using half of the circle design only.

SIMPLE EMBOSSING OVER INK BLENDING
My next card uses the new
Altenew Bunch of Balloons 3D Embossing Folder. I started off by adding inks to a panel of white cardstock with Altenew Ink Blending Tools. I used Forest Glades (Green Fields set), Teal Cave (Sweet Dreams set), Persian Blue (Galcier Caves set) and Midnight Violet (Shades of Purple set). I then ran the panel through my die cutting machine with the Bunch of Balloons Embossing Folder.
The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with tape runner. I then die cut the
Altenew Happy Birthday Die from white cardstock three times and layered them up one on top of another and added to the card. I took the sentiment from the
Altenew Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set and stamped it on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink.
HIGHLIGHTING DETAILS WITH GOLD INK
For my last card, I am using the same technique as the first card but this time on to coloured cardstock and using gold ink. I started off with a panel of blue cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the
Altenew Alocasia 3D Embossing Folder.
Using an ink blending tool, I then applied Tim Holtz Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink. This is to lighten up the leaves slightly and show the details. I then went over this with
Altenew Antique Gold Pigment Ink to the raised areas. The panel was adhered flat to a blue A2 card base.
