New Beginnings

Hello there, today I am back sharing a card as part of Stamping Bella's Wonderful Wednesdays With feature. My card today uses the beautiful Tiny Townie Fairy Garden Fairy House.

I started off by taking a panel of white cardstock and cutting it using the ME Femme Frames Die. I then stamped the house in the middle with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I stamped the sentiment in the top left. The image panel was coloured with Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section).

The panel was added to a white A2 card base with foam sheet and DST. I then added little dots of Copic Spica pen to the flowers and I also added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the windows for some added shine.

Hello Sunflower

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the beautiful Sending Sunshine stamp set from Clearly Besotted. I adore sunflowers but I usually colour them very bright and so for my card today, I thought I would colour them with more of an autumnal feel.

I started off by stamping the sunflower image from the set on to watercolour paper using Hero Arts Intense Black ink. I used my Mini MISTI so that I could stamp it multiple times to get a good impression on the textured paper.  The image was then water coloured using Distress Inks. I used Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Gathered Twigs for the sunflower's petals. I then used Gathered Twigs, Ground Espresso and Black Soot for the inside portions. The leaves were coloured using Peeled Paint and Forest Moss inks. The accompanying flowers were coloured with a very light concentration of Mustard Seed. I added the ink to a slick surface and then picked it up with a paint brush and water.

I then created a mask for the image. I stamped it on to masking paper and cut it out using scissors (this did take a while as the image is quite intricate). The mask was placed over the image and then using a blending tool, I went around the outsides with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The colour looks a bit lighter in the photos. In real life, it is a little darker and a bit more dramatic! The water colour piece was cut down and added to a black A2 card base with ATG.

I applied some Stick It adhesive to more black cardstock and cut the MFT Hello die from it three times. These were stacked together and then added to the card. I added a coating of clear Wink of Stella on top for some shine. I then added dots of Copic Spica Pens to the flowers. It is a bit difficult to see this in the photos but when it catches the light, it is really beautiful!

Make A Wish

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the beautiful Make A Wish stamp set from Clearly Besotted. Aren't those flowers stunning? Inspired by Jenny (owner of Clearly Besotted) and Steph, I decided to try colouring the flowers with colour pencils. I definitely need more practice using pencils but I did enjoy colouring this image in, even if it did take ages! :)

I started off by stamping the flowers on to some Strathmore Toned Grey Mixed Media Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured the flowers with Polychromos Pencils plus the white  Luminance pencil. The colours I used were mainly from the 60 pencil set but I did buy some open stock of warm greys, which I used on the flower petals. The colours I used are listed below the supplies section.

I cut the panel down and adhered it to a black A2 card base with ATG. The sentiment, from the Tiny Type set, was stamped on to more black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder, heat set and cut this in to a strip. This was added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added three Sparkling Clear sequins.

Autumn Leaf

Hello there, today I am over on the Hero Arts blog sharing a look at the Autumn Icons Fancy Dies. These were released on Tuesday as an add-on for the main kit and let me tell you, they are beautiful! I love the cut-out look to them. As soon as I saw the dies, I knew I wanted to add Gilding Flakes to them and I thought the copper colour would work beautifully on the leaf for autumn.

Let's Be Mermaids!

Hello there, I am super excited as this month I get to guest with Stamping Bella for their Wonderful Wednesday's With feature. My card today uses the beautiful Tiny Townie Mermaid, along with a fabulous sentiment from the Under The Sea Sentiments Set.

I started off by taking a piece of white cardstock and stamping the mermaid and two seaweed/water plants on to it using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured the image using Copic Markers The colours I used are listed below the supplies section). After seeing Michele Boyer colour her mermaid tail in two colours, I thought I would give it a go too and I really like how it came out!

I took the sentiment from the Under The Sea Sentiments Set and stamped this in the top right hand corner. I then simply adhered the panel on to a white A2 card base with foam sheet and DST.

Hero Arts September 2017 My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, today we are celebrating the release of the September My Monthly hero Kit from Hero Arts. We are definitely feeling all autumnal with this kit! The main kit stamp set features colour layering pumpkins and a gorgeous sunflower and that is what I am using on my card today.

If you are following along with the hop, you should have arrived here from my amazing teamie May, but if you get lost along the way, I have the full list of participants below.

For my card, I started off by cutting a panel of white cardstock using one of the Rectangle Infinity Dies. I then took the sunflower image and stamped the head of it with various shades of yellow ink. I used Soft Yellow, Butter Bar and Pumpkin Pie. There is a centre portion for the sunflower but I used Copics for this. I then stamped the stem and leaves using Soft Green and Fresh Lawn. I knew I wanted to colour the background with Copic Markers, so I thought I would enhance the stamp layering with Copics too (the colours I used are listed below). I then coloured the background with Copics as well, adding in some dots with the colourless blender for some more interest.

I took the 'hello' sentiment from the same stamp set and stamped this using Intense Black Ink. I mounted the panel on to some black cardstock (to coordinate with the sentiment) and then adhered the panels on to an A2 card base made with Decorate Woodgrain Cardstock.

Hippo Birthday

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the super cute Happy Hippos set from MFT. I have been eager to ink up this set since I got it, those hippos are adorable!

I started off my card by creating the background. I took a piece of white cardstock and cut it using the largest of the SSS Stitched Rectangle Dies. I took the MFT Cloud stencil and used this to create clouds with my Copic Markers. I first outlined the cloud shape with the stencil and then filled in above it with shading, to create the effect I was looking for. I stamped the hippo and bow-tie using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. They were coloured with Copic Markers (colours used listed below the supplies section) and then fussy cut out. I added the bow-tie to the hippo with a little liquid glue.

I added the cloud background on to a white A2 card base with ATG. I die cut one of the balloons from the Lawn Fawn Party Balloons die collection and then coloured this with Copic Markers also. I wrapped some silver thread through the bottom and then tied it on to the hippos hand. The pieces were then added to the card with foam tape.

I took the 'hippo' portion of one of the sentiments from the Happy Hippos set and the 'birthday' portion of a sentiment from the MFT Beary Special Birthday set and stamped these on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. These were then cut in to strips and added to the card with more foam tape. I added Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the balloon and then to finish off, I added a few Clear Iridescent Jewels.

Scrumptious Birthday

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the gorgeous Just For you set from Clearly Besotted. I love the large ranunculus image in the set and thought it would work well for water colouring. I have combined it with the Scrumptious Script set to make a birthday card.

I started off by stamping the ranunculus image on to watercolour paper using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I coloured the image using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens (colours used listed below the supplies section) along with water and a paint brush. The image was then fussy cut out with scissors.

I took a white A2 card base and added a strip of paper from the MFT Black & White Basics Paper Pad on to the left hand side. I then added a panel of white cardstock to the right. On to this panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Scrumptious Script set, in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then added the flowers on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's sequins and jewels with Multi Medium Matte.

VIDEO | Alcohol Ink Background with Honey Bee Stamps

Hello there, today I am delighted to be guest designing with Honey Bee Stamps. I am using the super cute Swimming By stamp set along with alcohol inks to create a fun sea background.

To start my card, I took a piece of Yupo paper (a synthetic paper that works really well with alcohol inks) and added on some Alcohol Ink Blending Solution on to it. This helps the alcohol inks to move. I then applied three shades of alcohol ink. I used Mermaid, Pool and Aqua. Since I blended the colours together so much, I probably could have just used one or two but that's ok! Once I had the colour on the paper, I picked it up and moved it so that the alcohol inks ran on the paper. I then spritzed air on to it using the TH Spritzer Tool. I set this piece aside to dry while I worked on my stamping.

I took the mermaid and turtle from the Swimming By stamp set and stamped these on to white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured them using Copic Markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I cut my alcohol inked piece down to size and stamped the bubbles from the set on to it. I used Versamark ink to stamp and then applied white embossing powder and heat set. The heat did warp the paper slightly but since I was sticking it down to the card base I wasn't too concerned. After applying the piece to an A2 white card base, I added two strips of white cardstock on top with foam tape. The 'happy birthday' sentiment was stamped on to the top piece with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

I then added the turtle on to the card with foam tape and the mermaid was added with a combination of foam tape and tape runner. Using Copic At You Spica glitter pens, I added little dots to the mermaid's hair, top and tail. I also added a little on to the shell of the turtle too. To finish off, I added Shimmering Pool Jewels, along with Peacock sequins.

Baby Penguin

Hello there, today I am back with another card using some of the new products from the Hero Arts Wintertime Fun release. I just couldn't resist this Baby Penguin, I mean, adorable, right?! :)

I started off by stamping the penguin on to white cardstock. I used the ink colours from the Ink & Emboss Penguin set. The colours are Soft Granite, Charcoal and Black. To help layer them up, I used a stamp positioner. I cut him out using the coordinating Frame Cut. To create a background for him, I took a circle die and cut this with Bristol cardstock. I then blended on various shades of Distress Ink to create a sky look. I spritzed this with a solution of Perfect Pearls and water and set aside to dry.

Once dry, I took the piece and ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Snowflake Confetti die. The piece was adhered flat to a card base made from the new Decorative Woodgrain Cardstock. I then took the sentiment from the set, stamped this with Versamark Ink on to a piece of black cardstock, applied white embossing powder and then heat set. I added the penguin to the card with foam tape as well as the sentiment piece. To finish off, I added a few Frost Sequins with Multi Medium Matte.
