Hello there, today I have something different to share with you - Fergus! He is from the Spellbinders 3D Felt Décor Collection by
Sandi MacIver. I am a little late to the party with this one as I haven't been well but I was finally able to sit down this week and stitch him up! You cut the dies from felt and then stitch him together to create THE cutest little gnome/gonk!

Fergus isn't the normal kind of felt plushies that I make occasionally, he is 3D! This was a challenge for me, I am not going to lie. I have never made a 3D anything out of felt, let alone use stitches I had never used before! Sandi is, however, a great teacher and she has shared videos over on the
Spellbinders YouTube channel sharing step by step instructions on how to create him.
I used Peachy from the
Spellbinders Merino Wool Holiday Collection with DMC 3865 Floss for his hands and nose, and Snow from the same Holiday Collection using DMC BLANC Floss for his beard. I stuffed his body with polyester filling, as well as Poli plastic pellets to give him some weight to help him stand up.

Is he stitched perfectly? No! But I am happy with how he turned out and the majority of the imperfect stitching is hidden on the inside of the hat thankfully! I will definitely find somewhere to have him out over Christmas! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day!
Wow, this is just awesome! Love how you did the edging around the hat. Perfect colors for this little guy and the snowflakes look great, too.
ReplyDeleteaw, he is adorable in your signature colors Michelle, and so sorry that you were sick, hope you are feeling better now
