Spellbinders | Uncork & Unwind

Hello there, I am back today to share the second card that I made for Spellbinders using the Wine Country Collection. Today I am using the Time for Wine A2 Card Front Die which I think is great for lots of different occasions. I love that it covers the whole front of an A2 card so all you need to do is add a sentiment and you are good to go!

I started off by die cutting the die from a panel of white cardstock. I then went ahead and started to create my background. I took a panel of watercolour paper and using a direct to paper technique, I applied Aged Mahogany and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to the panel. I sprayed the piece heavily with shimmer spray and then set it aside to dry.

I took the sentiment from the Barrel of Sentiments set and stamped this on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was then cut in to a strip. Once the background was dry, I adhered it to an A2 white card base with tape runner. I then added the frame piece on top with liquid glue. To finish off, I added the sentiment piece on to the top right hand corner with foam tape.

I really love how the background sparkles against the white frame. I will let you into a secret though, I adhered the background panel upside down. I wanted the darker colour to be at the bottom not at the top. Oops! I still think it looks OK though! Thank you so much for visiting me today. I hope you have a great day and a fabulous week!

Reverse Confetti September 2018 Release Blog Hop

Hello there, I am delighted to be hopping along with Reverse Confetti today to celebrate their September 2018 release. It is an amazing release! For my projects today I went with a Halloween set and a holiday/Christmas one. If you are following along on the hop, you should have arrived here from the wonderful Kathy, but if you get lost along the way, I have the full list of participants below.

My first project uses the new Frightening Friends Stamp Set and Confetti Cuts. It is such a fun set for Halloween! I started off by stamping a few of the images from the set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured them with Copic Markers (the colours used are listed below) and then die cut them out with the coordinating Confetti Cuts.

I took the Stars Pretty Panels die and cut this from watercolour paper. I then blended on Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks for a night sky. I took a white A2 card base and stamped the sentiment from the set on to this with black ink. I then arranged the elements above to create a little scene. I used a combination of tape runner and foam tape to adhere them down.

My next project uses the Holiday Gnomes Stamp Set and Confetti Cuts. These gnomes are so cute and I think can be used for lots of occasions, but I went with Christmas tags today. I took the Topped Off Tag die and cut this twice from red cardstock. The tag as it is wasn't quite as long enough in height as I wanted it to be, so I did some partial die cutting to make the tag longer and cut the bottom with a guillotine. I took panels of white cardstock and added these to the bottom of the tags. The sentiment from the set was stamped on them with black ink.

I took Versamark Ink and stamped one of the snowflakes from the set on to the tags to give a tone-one tone look. I then stamped both of the gnomes on to white cardstock with black ink. I coloured them with Copic Markers (the colours used are listed below) and die cut out with the coordinating Confetti Cuts. I added these to the tags with foam tape. To finish off, I added twine through the top of the tags, Ice Cube jewels to the centres of the snowflakes and I also added white glitter details to the images with White Blizzard Nuvo Drops.

Spellbinders | Wine Country

Hello there, I was delighted to guest design with Spellbinders at the end of August and today, I am sharing two of the cards that I made with you (I will share the third next week). For my cards, I am using the Wine Country collection, which I think is great for lots of occasions.

My first card uses the wonderful Wine Snippets set. The set consists of fabulous frame dies in different sizes. I used the largest one on my card today. I started off by die cutting the frame twice from white cardstock that had Stick It on the back. The frame pieces were stacked on top of each other.

I took an alcohol ink background piece that I had already made (you can see how I made it in this post here) and added the frame piece on top. The piece was added to a 4.75" x 4.75" white square card base with tape runner. I then stamped the sentiment from the Vineyard Wine Bottle Tag set on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was cut down using a craft knife and ruler and then added to the card with foam tape.

My next card uses three sets from the collection. I started off by die cutting the sentiment piece from the Barrel of Sentiments set from kraft cardstock. While die cutting, I also cut the leaves and grapes from the Frame Charms set from white cardstock. All four of these die cuts were run through the Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine again using the embossing plate to get the embossed detail on them.

I stamped the sentiment from the Vineyard Wine Bottle Tag set on to the banner with black ink. I then took a blending tool and added Walnut Stain around the edges. I also inked the leaves with Mowed Lawn and Forest Moss Distress Ink and the grapes with Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Walnut Stain. I added a panel of woodgrain cardstock to the front of an A2 white card base and added the sentiment banner on top with foam tape. I then added the leaves and grapes with liquid glue. To finish off, I added a few Raindrops around the sentiment piece.

Hero Arts September 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit Blog Hop + Givveaway

Hello there, today we are celebrating the release of the Hero Arts September 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit. I love the autumnal feel of this kit! Autumn is one of my favourite seasons, I love seeing the leaves on the trees change colour. If you are following along with the hop, you should have arrived here from Caly, but if you get lost along the way, I have the full list of participants below.

For my card today, I wanted to capture the colours of autumn when the leaves change from green to yellow and orange. I started off by creating my background. I took a panel of watercolour paper and blended Distress Inks on to it, deepening the colour towards the bottom of the panel. I then spritzed the panel with a fine mist of sheer sparkle spray and set aside to dry. Once dry, I embossed the beautiful new Ornate Floral Stencil, which is an add-on this month, on to it. I love the texture it gives to the panel!

The panel was cut down and added flat to an A2 white card base. I then took one of the Chinese lantern plant/Physalis images from the main kit stamp set and stamped this on to vellum using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set (this would work beautifully with gold or copper embossing powder too!). I used the coordinating die that comes in the kit to cut it out. I added small dots of liquid glue to the back and adhered this to the card.

The sentiment from the main kit stamp set, was stamped on to a piece of black cardstock with Versamark Ink and white heat embossed also. The piece was cut down and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few raindrops around the sentiment.

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Party!

Hello there, I am delighted to be taking part in the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember party today! Loads of designers have got together today to celebrate STAMPtember, which kicked off yesterday. Each person at the party will be sharing an exclusive promotion with you, so do check out all the other people at the party too, as they will be different. You can find all of the people at the party over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog. More on this below.

For my card today, I am using the new Birthday Numbers set which was released yesterday. It is a larger set filled with numbers, images and lots of sentiments. Perfect for Birthday's but lots of other occasions too. I started off by stamping the numbers on to a panel of TH watercolor paper using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I took Distress Inks in rainbow colours and blended these on to the panel with an ink blending tool. I splattered on some water droplets and then left to dry. Once dry, the panel was added to the front of an A2 white card base with tape runner.

I took the cupcake image from the set and stamped this on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured it with Copic Markers and then fussy cut out, adding Memento pen around the edges to finish it off nicely. I stamped the sentiment on to black cardstock, white heat embossed and cut in to a banner with scissors. I then took a piece of vellum and cut this with one of the Stitched Circle dies. The cupcake and sentiment were added on top with foam tape and then the circle piece added to the card with tape runner (hiding the adhesive behind the cupcake and sentiment strip). To finish off, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard to the sprinkles.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Birthday Wishes

Hello there and welcome to day four of the Clearly Besotted Teasers for the September 2018 release. The new products go live tomorrow at 8pm BST, so not too long to wait now! For my last teaser today, I am using the new Wishful Thinking set. It is such a pretty set filled with dandelions, branches and fabulous sentiments.

I started off my card by creating the background. I thought the dandelions would look good using the alcohol ink lift technique that Jennifer McGuire shares here. I took a panel that I had made previously with alcohol inks. This was one that I had made by smooshing yupo paper in to the leftover alcohol inks that were on my craft mat, so it is one without too much interest.

I took various dandelion stamps from the Wishful Thinking set and stamped these on to the panel using the Alcohol Ink Lift Ink Pad. I then buffed away any excess with a dry cloth. It gives a wonderful effect! The panel was then cut down and added flat to a white A2 card base with tape runner.

I die cut letters using the Altenew Fine Alphabet set and cut these twice from white cardstock and once from SSS glitter cardstock. These were stacked up and added to the card with liquid glue. I then took the sentiment from the set and stamped this on to white cardstock with black ink. I cut it in to a strip and added it to the card with thin foam tape.

It's a very simple card but I really like how the background came out with the alcohol ink lift technique. For more inspiration using the new release, please head over to my teamies Stephanie, Keren and Lisa. Thank you so much for stopping by today, see you tomorrow for release day! Have a great day!

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Make A Splash!

Hello there and welcome to day three of the September 2018 Clearly Besotted Teasers. I hope you are enjoying the peeks so far. The new products release on the 1st September. Today I am using the super cute Rainy Day Play stamp set. Yes, the hippos are back! :)

I started off by stamping one of the hippos and the splash marks from the Rainy Day Play set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I wanted to have the hippo be in a rain storm, so I decided to get inspiration from this card by Sandy Allnock. I also used background elements from this card by Elaine Hughes.

All of the colouring was done with Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section) and then I used the colourless blender to create some rain drops, as well as a fine 05 point white gel pen. The image was cut out with a circle die. I took an A2 white card base and embossed a slightly larger circle die on to the front. The image panel was then added on top with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink and white heat embossed. This was added to the card with more foam tape.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Hello, Foxy!

Hello there and welcome to day two of the September 2018 Clearly Besotted Teasers. Today I am using the adorable new Woodland Plushies set, along with the new Brushed Sentiments Plus set.

I started off by stamping the fox, flower and toadstools/mushrooms from the Woodland Plushies stamp set on to white cardstock with black ink. I coloured them with Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section) and fussy cut out (but there will be dies available). These were then set aside. I took an MFT Stitched Dome Stax die and cut this from white cardstock. I then stamped the tree stamp from the Scene It stamp set on top. The panel was then coloured using Copic Markers, using the MFT Mini Cloud Border for the sky.

I cut a border for the dome using two of the Stitched Dome dies and using foam tape, added this to the background panel. I then added the fox, toadstools and flower on to it using foam tape. I took a panel of white cardstock and die cut this using the Hero Arts Woodgrain Texture Fancy Die. This panel was added to a white card base with tape runner. I then added the dome scene piece on top, with more tape runner.

I took the 'hello' from the Brushed Sentiments Plus set and stamped this on to back cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added white highlights with a gel pen to the images.
