VIDEO | Micest Friend

Hello there, I am delighted to be over on the My Favorite Things YouTube Channel today, sharing a card using the Micest Friend set from the December 2023 release.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off my card by stamping the mouse and cake/cheese from the MFT YUZU Micest Friend Stamp Set onto white cardstock using black ink. I coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies list) and then die cut them out using the MFT YUZU Micest Friend Die-namics

I took a panel of white cardstock and using the images as a guide for placement, stamped the sentiment from the set on top using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. I then added memo tape above the sentiment to mask off the 'ground'.

I added ink blending above using Tim Holtz Wilted Violet Distress Ink. I removed the tape and adhered the panel to a US A2 sized white card base with tape runner adhesive. I then adhered the images with foam tape. To finish off, I added black glaze pen to the mouse's eyes and clear glaze pen to his nose. I also added Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard to the stars on the cake.

Christmas Filled With Joy

Hello there, today I have three cards to share with you, all with the same design but a different colourway. I am using the Simon Says Stamp Winter Village Die Set for my cards today, which is super cute! You can create lots of scenes with these dies but as usual, I kept mine pretty simple!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by die cutting the Simon Says Stamp Winter Village Die Set from white cardstock. I then added vellum to the back of the houses to cover up the windows. Ordinarily, I would stack multiple layers up to add dimension, but since I knew that I wanted to post/mail these cards I kept them fairly flat.

I did double up the house in the middle though, just for some variation. I then took white cardstock panels and blended Tim Holtz Distress Inks at the top, fading to white at the bottom. I used Wilted Violet for the purple card, Peacock Feathers for the aqua card and Picked Raspberry for the pink card. I then splattered Altenew Titanium White Gouache on top and set them aside to dry.

Once dry, I stamped a sentiment on top from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. The panel were adhered to US A2 sized white card bases with tape runner adhesive. I then adhered the houses and trees on top with Bearly Art Glue

Simple cards but I really like how they turned out! They are my favourite colours, so I hope the recipients like them too! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Video | Foiling on Vellum

Hello there, today I have a card and video to share with you where I am hot foiling onto vellum. I found whilst experimenting that vellum not only needs a bit of extra pressure but also a bit more heat. At least for me and my machines anyway!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by hot foiling the Hero Arts Twinkling Stars Hot Foil Plate onto Hero Arts Classic Vellum Layering Paper using Spellbinders Champagne Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. I heated up the plate twice and also added two extra paper shims into the sandwich before running it through my Platinum Six.

I then took a US A2 sized white card base and cut the largest of the Hero Arts Diamond Infinity Dies in the front panel to create a window. I cut the vellum to size and adhered it to the inside of the card to fill the window. I cut another panel with the same diamond die and adhered that over the top to hide the adhesive. I love that although the this vellum is fairly opaque, you can still see through the window!

I die cut the Hero Arts Number Two (twice), Number Four and Number Zero Fancy Dies from Hero Arts Gold Glitter Cardstock, as well as twice from white cardstock. I added Altenew Double Sided Adhesive Sheet on the back before die cutting and then stacked them up one on top of another before adhering onto the card.

I show in the video that because I used the adhesive sheet, you cannot see the adhesive through the vellum. For a sentiment, I stamped the 'happy new year' from the Hero Greetings Merry Christmas Stamp Set onto Hero Arts Pitch Black Cardstock using Hero Arts Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder, heat set and cut it into a strip. It was adhered to the card with black thin foam tape.

Whilst I am not a huge fan of gold, it is growing on me a little and I love all the sparkle and shine for a celebratory card! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Altenew | December 2023 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, I'm delighted to be joining Altenew today for the December 2023 release. There are lots of ink pads releasing today plus the December 2023 subscription products, new pouches and gouache. I have a lot to share today, so I hope you will grab a drink and snack and enjoy the inspiration.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

For my first card, I used the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Calla Lily Layering Die Set. The dies were cut from white cardstock and ink blended using Altenew Rock Collection Fresh Dye Inks (Limestone), Golden Sunset Fresh Dye Inks (Chamomile and Sunray) and Green Valley Crisp Dye Inks (all four shades).

The leaves and stems were adhered first to a US A2 sized white card base with liquid glue, followed by the flower heads using Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. The sentiment from the Altenew Soft Blossoms Stamp Set was stamped onto black cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added Raindrops embellishments.

My next card uses the Altenew Dynamic Duo: Dainty Roses stamp and stencil combo. I started off stencilling the roses and leaves onto a panel of white cardstock using Altenew Enchanted Garden Crisp Dye Inks and Green Valley Crisp Dye Inks. I then took the stamp set and stamped the line detail onto the image using Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink.

The panel was adhered to a US A2 sized white card base using Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was into a strip and adhered to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I embellished with Raindrops.

My next card uses the new Altenew Sugarplums Fresh Dye Inks. I die cut the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Open Peony Layering Die Set from white cardstock and added ink blending to the petals with the Sugarplums inks (all four shades). The flower centre was blended with Altenew Fall Harvest Crisp Dye Inks and the leaves with Altenew Rock Collection Fresh Dye Inks

The flower was assembled using liquid glue. I adhered the leaves first to a US A2 sized white card base, followed by the flower. The sentiment from the Altenew Soft Blossoms Stamp Set was stamped and heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut into a strip. It was adhered to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added Bubbles embellishments.

My next card uses the new Altenew Glacier Caves Fresh Dye Inks. I die cut the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Garden Rose Layering Die Set from white cardstock. Using an Altenew Mini Blending Brush, I blended Glacier Caves inks on top for the petals, Golden Sunset Fresh Dye Inks for the centre and Green Valley Crisp Dye Inks for the leaves.

I adhered the leaves first onto a US A2 sized white card base with liquid glue. The flowers were then adhered on top using Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. The sentiment from the Altenew Soft Blossoms Stamp Set was stamped and heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut into a strip. It was adhered to the card with more foam tape. To finish, I embellished with Bubbles.

My last card for today uses Altenew Spark Joy: Ornamental Bouquet. I foiled the hot foil plate onto white cardstock using Altenew Brushed Gold Hot Foil. I then used the stencil set to colour the image using ink blending. I used the new Altenew Dried Petals Fresh Dye Inks for the pink flower. I used Golden Sunset Fresh Dye Inks for the smaller flowers and then Green Valley Crisp Dye Inks for the leaves.

I fussy cut it out using scissors (but there is an add-on die available). I then took a 3.75" x 5.5" card base and splattered on the new Altenew Carbon Black Artists' Gouache. Once dry, the image was adhered on top with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. The sentiment from the Altenew Essential Sentiments Hot Foil Plate Set was foiled, cut into a strip and adhered to the card.

Also releasing this month are new Dreaming in Watercolor Zipper Pouches. These are so pretty! There is a large and small (pocket) size and can be used for lots of different things.

The larger pouch is perfect for holding Altenew stamps, dies and products. Perfect for a project bag, if you want to keep everything together.

I think I might use the smaller one as a pouch to take items to my sofa if I want to do some sketching or planning. It's a good size to hold a little sketchbook, washi tape, pens and markers.

Spellbinders | House-Mouse Winter

Hello there, today I have two cards to share with you using the new House-Mouse Winter Collection from Spellbinders. It has been a while since I just sat down and coloured with Copic Markers, so it was fun to colour these, although I did feel a bit rusty with the colouring!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by taking the Spellbinders House-Mouse Snuggle Up Stamp Set and stamped the image onto a panel of white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I started off by adding in the grass for the background using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below), followed by colouring the image itself.

The panel was adhered to a US A2 sized black card base with foam tape. I stamped a sentiment from the Spellbinders Lots of Wishing You Sentiments Stamp Set onto black cardstock using Spellbinders Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied Spellbinders White Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card using foam tape.

For my second card, I stamped the image from the Spellbinders House-Mouse Knit One Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black. I coloured the image using Copic Markers.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Spellbinders Envelope of Wonder Stamp Set with more black ink. The panel was adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with foam tape.

Spellbinders | Cheers to Us

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the Spellbinders December 2023 Large Die of the Month Club Kit. The kit consists of dies to cut a bottle (whether it be wine or champagne), as well as two different shaped glasses, plus some sparkle shapes. I decided to use the champagne style glass and combine it with other dies for a fun Christmas card!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by die cutting the glasses from the Spellbinders December 2023 Large Die of the Month Club Kit from acetate. I then die cut the champagne itself from Spellbinders Alabaster Cardstock. I took the holly and berries from the Spellbinders Dancin' Figgy Pudding Etched Dies and cut them from Spellbinders Crimson and Rainforest Cardstock.

I die cut the candy cane from the Spellbinders Parcel & Post Christmas Decorations Etched Dies Set from Spellbinders Crimson and white cardstock. The bow is also from this set and cut from gold glitter cardstock. The sparkle pieces were cut from the same gold glitter cardstock. I adhered all the layers using Bearly Art Glue and then adhered the glasses first to a US A2 sized Onyx card base.

I added Bearly Art Glue behind the champagne portion and then a little behind the bow. I foiled a sentiment from the Spellbinders Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set onto white cardstock using Spellbinders Champagne Foil. I adhered it on to the card with foam tape. I then adhered the candy cane to the glass, followed by the holly and berries using foam tape. I added a few dots of E31 Copic Marker to the champagne to represent bubbles. To finish off, I adhered the sparkles around the glasses and added a few Spellbinders Gold Mix Color Essentials Gems

Hero Arts | My Monthly Hero December 2023 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there and welcome as we celebrate the release of the Hero Arts December 2023 My Monthly Hero Kits and add-on products. The release this month is all about letters and numbers! Perfect for cards, tags, stationery and scrapbooking!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

My first projects today use the Hero Arts December 2023 My Monthly Hero Classic Kit. I took the Alphabet Cover Plate Die from the kit and die cut it multiple times from white cardstock and also Peony, Ultra Pink, Cherry, Cranberry, Paradise and Bermuda Cardstock.

I wanted one layer of white cardstock as a base for the colours of cardstock on top (for added dimension). I then cut two tags, using the Tag Infinity Dies, from white cardstock and the topper piece from Pitch Black Cardstock

I adhered the white cardstock letters first spelling 'Fa La La' on one tag and Ho Ho Ho' on the other. The letters were adhered with Precision Glue. I then adhered the colourful ones on top. To finish off, I added the topper piece with Precision Glue, threaded twine though and tied in a bow.

In case you missed it, for my countdown project, I also used the Hero Arts December 2023 My Monthly Hero Classic Kit. This time using both the Alphabet Cover Plate Die and the XL Alphabet Clear Stamp Set (for the whale). You can see how I made the card HERE

My second project for today is a hexagon shaped card using some of the add-on products for this month. I started off by embossing a panel of Passion Flower Cardstock using the Alphabet Embossing Plate. Using blending brushes, I blended Passion Flower, Orchid, Amethyst and Grape Juice Core Inks on top. It was then die-cut using a Hexagon Infinity Die.

I took the diamond shape stamp from the Geometric Frames set and stamped it onto vellum using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut out using the coordinating die. I stamped the 'hello' from the Message Basics Stamp Set onto Pitch Black Cardstock and heat embossed that also. It was cut into a strip.

I die-cut the 'U' from the Letter S-V Fancy Dies set three times from white cardstock. They were adhered one on top of another using Precision Glue. I then adhered it to the vellum piece, followed by the hello sentiment on top, adhered with foam tape. The piece was then adhered to the hexagon panel using more Precision Glue. The panel was then adhered to a hexagon shaped card base.

VIDEO | Snow Happy Tag

Hello there, I am over on the My Favorite Things YouTube channel today, sharing a tag using some products from the November 2023 release. I love the shape of the Fanciful Frame STAX Die-namics and thought they would perfectly for a tag!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by die cutting one of the MFT Fanciful Frames STAX Die-namics twice from white cardstock. On one piece, I stamped the snow bank image from the MFT Warm Winter Hugs on top using black ink. I made a mask from masking paper and placed it onto the panel.

Using blending brushes, I blended Picked Raspberry Distress Ink on top, focussing the darker colour towards the bottom of the sky. I then blended Seedless Preserves Distress Ink on top, to darken it slightly. I removed the mask then coloured the snow and trees using Copic Markers. I adhered the other panel to the back using tape runner adhesive.

I cut a hole at the top of the panel using a Crop-A-Dile to make the shape into a tag. I cut the hole reinforcer piece from the MFT Do-It-All Gift Tag Die-namics, twice, from MFT Black Licorice Cardstock and then adhered them (on the front and the back) around the hole. I threaded twine through the tag and tied in a bow at the front.

I stamped one of the snowmen from the MFT Snow Happy Stamp Set onto white cardstock and coloured him using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area). He was die cut out using the MFT Snow Happy Die-namics and adhered to the tag using foam tape. I added white gel pen stars and snow to the sky, clear glaze pen to his nose and buttons and then added White Blizzard Glitter Nuvo Drops to the hat.

Here is the video showing how I made the tag:

I didn't add a sentiment in case I want to add it to a card (and I might want the sentiment in a different place). If I don't and I send it as a standalone tag, I will stamp a sentiment or write a personal message on the back.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. Wishing you a wonderful day!
