Spellbinders | Oriental Lilies

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the Spellbinders Oriental Lily and Wellies Dies from Susan's Garden Club Collection. I love lilies, my favourites are calla lilies but these oriental ones, or as I know them, star gazer lilies, are a very close second. I am not too keen on the smell (they are a bit overpowering for me) so I often remove the stamens so I have the beauty of the flower without the smell! These dies do come with stamens to add to the centres but I chose not to include them on my card today.

I started off by die cutting the Spellbinders Oriental Lily and Wellies Dies from Spellbinders Snowdrift Cardstock. I cut each part of the lily three times so that I would have three lilies. I then cut lots of leaves from the same cardstock. For the lilies, I added ink blending to the centres using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry, leaving some white areas at the tips.

Using a fineliner pen, I then added the speckles to the petals. Following Susan's wonderful video tutorial, I shaped the flowers as best as I could. As you can see, I left mine a lot flatter but I still thought they were pretty. I adhered the two layers together using Bearly Art Glue. For the leaves, I blended on Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness and like the petals used the Spellbinders Tool 'n One to shape them.

I then took the sentiment from the Spellbinders Everyday II Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and foiled it on to Spellbinders Onyx Cardstock with Spellbinders Silver Foil. It was cut using the die and then I started to arrange everything on my card. My card base is 4" x 5.25" so that I can have some bits hanging off the edges. The lilies were adhered with Bearly Art Glue and Foam Squares popping the petals up, the leaves were simply adhered with the Bearly Art Glue. The sentiment was adhered with Foam Squares. To finish off, I added Spellbinders Silver Mix Color Essential Gems

I really love how those lilies came out. They are not traditional, they should definitely be more 3D but I loved using them in a more CAS way. Thanks so much for stopping by today, I really appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day and a great week ahead!
