Clearly Besotted Teasers | New Hive

Hello there and welcome to day day three of the Clearly Besotted May 2021 Teasers. Not long to wait now, release day is Wednesday, 1st May 2021. For my card today, I am using the new Spelling Bee set. This set is full of lots of different bees, as well as a beehive and lots of funny sentiments, too.

For my card, I started off by stamping the beehive on the branch image from the Clearly Besotted Spelling Bee Stamp Set on to a panel of white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then extended the branch slightly with a Copic Multi-liner pen. I made a mask for it and then placed the MFT Rectangle Extraordinaire Stencil on top. I took the Clearly Besotted Cloudy Day Stencil and using ink blending tools, blended On Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon. I moved the cloud stencil down as I went to fill the rectangle window.

With the masks still in place, I splatted on Arteza Gouache in Titanium White and Cerulean Blue. The masks were removed and the panel left to dry. I took another piece of white cardstock and stamped the bee from the Clearly Besotted Spelling Bee Stamp Set on to it using more black ink. It was coloured using Copic Markers and fussy cut out with scissors. I then coloured the branch and beehive with Copic Markers as well (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area).

The panel was adhered flat to an A2 white card base and then the bee added on with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added Tonic White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to the bee's wings and Lucy's Bubbles around the sentiment.
