Pretty Pansies

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the new Pretty pansies set from Clearly Besotted. If you liked the set that they brought out for STAMptember then I am sure you will love this one too!

I started off by stamping the two clusters of pansies in the set on to a panel of white cardstock. I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then coloured them using Copic Markers. I went around the flowers with pale blues to help the flowers pop off of the panel. I also added white gel pen and pale yellow Spica dots to the insides of the flowers for some added interest.

The panel was added to a black A2 card base with foam sheet. I took the 'happy birthday' sentiment from the A Little Sentimental Set and stamped this on to a piece of black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was cut in to a strip and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Disco Ball Jewels from Lucy's Cards.

Another white embossed sentiment on black! I am not sure what is wrong with me at the moment! ;) I just seem to be drawn to them. Do you ever get like that? I seem to have phases of using the same thing over and over again. Please tell me that happens to you too?! Thanks so much for popping by to see me today. I hope you have a great week!

  1. You are not alone, I definitely get hooked on doing certain techniques. It always looks stunning, the white on black. I do love the look of these pansies, they work better for me as I love colouring. Xx

  4. So beautiful Michelle, your colouring is so gorgeous and to pop it up against the black notecard - it looks stunning, makes the flowers really pop. I love these pansies, I must pick them up at some point, but I seem to be enjoying not doing florals for the moment for some odd reason! Lisa xx

  5. Your pansies are lovely; they remind me of those that my grandmother used to grow, vibrant with their deep purple and yellow faces! Yes, I hear you about falling for a technique and re-using it! In your case: carry on! The sentiment on black is striking!
