Back To Basics: Adhesives

Hello there, today I am back with my next instalment of Back To Basics for card making. Today I am focussing on adhesives. Sounds rather boring but we all need to use them right?

LIQUID GLUE
My favourite liquid glue by far is the Tombow Multi Talent glue. This is basically like PVA glue but it comes out in a tip. It does have the ability to be temporary too but leaving it out to dry for a while. Another good glue that bonds very well is Glossy Accents. Once something is stuck down with this is not coming up again! I find it great for adhering sequins in particularly.

GLUE DOTS
There are a few types of glue dots out there but I stick to the original ones by Glue Dots. I mainly use the Mini and the Didi. I find these great for sticking down embellishments, especially die cut butterflies.

TAPE
When I first started crafting I used double sided tape. I still love it now to this day. I used the Sellotape brand which is great fro adhering card to card/ paper to paper etc. I wouldn't stick embellishments down with it though. I have since moved on to an Advanced Tape Glider as I like that it is quick to use, refillable and I don't have to cut the tape. If I am sticking something down that really needs to be extra permanent I use red line tape. This stuff is the big daddy of double sided tape! I also use a removable tape runner when making cards, I do not actually stick anything down with this but I like to temporarily adhere the panel of cardstock I am using to stamp on to my craft mat so that it doesn't shift. Once I am done I can just peel it off with my fingertip and it comes off easily.

DIMENSIONAL
I like to add dimension to my cards a lot of the time as my cards are quite simple. Popping the panel up on dimensional adhesive gives it that little bit extra I think. The ones I use the most for adhering card panels are the Stick It Transparent Squares. I don't need these to be transparent but that is a nice feature of them. I like that they are not too high and are pretty good value for money (in my opinion).I also like the Sellotape Sticky Fixers for this too. They are a little bit thicker than the Stick It ones so nice if I want a little bit more dimension. If I am adhering die cuts or images that I have cut out I like to use Stampin Up Dimensionals. The hexagon shape seems to be quite handy for this and I like that they are a little bit thicker for focal point.

Here is the video showing you what they look like (if you are subscribed to my YT Channel you may have already seen it there, I accidently published it a day early!):

PRODUCTS MENTIONED:

I hope that may have helped some of you. Any of your favourite adhesives that I haven't mentioned? Next week I will be focussing on Designer/patterned paper - showing some of my favourite pads, why I like them and my design process of using them. If you have any requests for videos please leave me a comment :0) Have a great day!
