Simon Says Stamp | Delicate Pine Branches

Hello there, today I have a card and tag to share with you using the new Simon Says Stamp Delicate Pine Branches Embossing Folder from the Handmade Holiday release which is out today. If you haven't tried these embossing folders from Simon Says Stamp, they are much more dimensional than lots on the market in my opinion. They give such beautiful results!

For my card and tag, I wanted to create a frosty look to the pine branches. Kind of like what I use as props for my photos! In real life, they are very sparkly but sadly, it is difficult to capture that in the photos. 

For the card, I started off by running the Simon Says Stamp Delicate Pine Branches Embossing Folder through my die cutting machine with a panel of white cardstock inside.  I then added ink to the panel with blending brushes and Distress Inks. I used Evergreen Bough, Lucky Clover, Pine Needles and Black Soot. Using a foam ink blending tool, I then pounced Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink on to the branches.

I took the panel to my Splat Box and spritzed on Sparkle Sheet Shimmer Spritz. I then pounced on more Unicorn Pigment Ink and let it sit to dry. Once dry, I adhered it to an A2 white card base with foam tape. I took the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas Stamp Set and stamped it on to Pitch Black cardstock. 

I applied white detail embossing powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip using the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Labels Dies and added to the card with thin foam squares. To finish off, I added Lucy's Bubbles. 

For the tag, I first die cut a white tag using the Hero Arts Tag Infinity Dies. I placed it in the Simon Says Stamp Delicate Pine Branches Embossing Folder and ran it through my die cutting machine. Using ink blending brushes, I blended on the same Distress Inks as the card, but this time added in Chipped Sapphire. I spritzed on the same shimmer spray and then added the white pigment ink and let it sit to dry.

I die cut the tag hole reinforcer from Pitch Black Cardstock and then added twine through the top. The sentiment, from the same Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas Stamp Set, was heat embossed on to black cardstock, cut out and added to the tag with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added more Lucy's Bubbles.

Spellbinders | Be Bold Color Block Christmas

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using one of the dies from the Spellbinders Be Bold Color Block Collection. Since I am trying to get as many Christmas cards made as early as possible this year, I went with the Merry Christmas set, which consists of a slimline die for the Christmas word and then a separate merry die.

I started off my card by die cutting the Spellbinders Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas Etched Dies from white cardstock. This gave me the inside pieces of the letters so that I could inlay them. I then cut the letters from Spellbinders cardstock. I found it easier to die cut the letters separately, rather than them all from each colour to save on wastage. If you did though, you could make multiples of the same card. 

I used Spellbinders Pink Sand, Lilac Blossom, Teal Topaz and Lagoon cardstock. When I die cut the white part, it stayed almost in one piece so I added Bearly Art Glue to the inside and outside pieces of the letters  and adhered it to a 8.5" x 3.5" white card base. I removed the letters (since I did not add glue to them) and added in the letters cut from the colours of cardstock. 

The merry word was die cut three times from white cardstock and stacked one on top of anther before adding to the card. The snowflakes, from the Spellbinders Chill Bear Etched Dies, were die cut from glitter cardstock and added to the card. To finish off, I added Spellbinders Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems to the centres.

Altenew | Craft-A-Flower Sweet Violet Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

For my card, I started off by die cutting the Altenew Craft-A-Flower Sweet Violet Layering Die Set using Altenew New Purple Gradient Cardstock for the petals (all four shades) and then Altenew Gilded Glitter Cardstock (Topaz) for the stamens. 

I used Altenew Green Meadows Gradient Cardstock for the leaves (the two lighter shades) and then adhered the layers together using Altenew 2 in 1 Precision Glue. I took a 4" x 5.5" card base and adhered the leaves first with Altenew Glue Tape. the flowers were then added on top with more tape. 

I took the sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strips Stamp Set and stamped it on to black cardstock with Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. To finish off, I added  a few black dots from the Altenew Essential Black & White Enamel Dots set.

Altenew | November 2021 Sparkle & Shine Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, today sees the release of the new Altenew Sparkle & Shine release. What a pretty release! There are lots of new stamps, dies and stencils plus ink pads too. For the release, we are celebrating with a fun blog hop. More information on that below.

My card today uses the new Altenew In the Woodland set. What a stunning set! There are two large florals in the set and I first stamped one of them from the Altenew In the Woodland Stamp Set on to a panel of white cardstock using Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. I took the Altenew In the Woodland Simple Coloring Stencil Set and placed the parts over the image, securing in place with memo tape. 

Using Altenew Small Ink Blending Brushes, I blended on Altenew Cherry Blossom Crisp Dye Inks for the petals, Altenew Golden Sunset Crisp Dye Inks for the centres and Altenew Green Fields Crisp Dye Inks for the leaves. I then die cut out the image using the Altenew In the Woodland Die Set. 

I took a white A2 card base and using an Altenew Large Ink Blending Tool, blended Cherry Blossom Crisp Dye Inks (Rubellite and Pinkalicious) for the top left hand corner, fading to white towards the bottom right hand corner. The sentiment was stamped using Obsidian pigment Ink and then the image added on top with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape, cutting off the edges that overlapped. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's Bubbles. 

Next up are the new ink colours - Frozen Delights and Jewel Tones. These are available in mini size and full size. The minis are available in sets of six. The full-size ink pads are available in sets or individually. I used the mini sets today. The Altenew Frozen Delights Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set consists of six mini cubes in beautiful pastel shades. 

The Altenew Jewel Tones Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set consists of six mini cubes in gorgeous deep jewel tones. For both of these swatch tags, I printed off the name of the set on my computer and then die cut them in to tags using the Altenew Terrific Tags Dies. I placed the new Altenew Color Swatches Stencil on top and blended the colour using Mini Ink Blending Tools. 

This stencil is perfect for making swatches but also great to use to create patterns on cards and projects too! 

Last but not least are the new coloring books. There is one for markers and one for watercolors. Both have the same beautiful floral designs in each. The Altenew Watercolor Coloring Book has 24 pages of 12 designs (one with dark outlines and one with light) on 100% cotton 140lb cold press watercolor paper. 

I coloured one of the designs using Altenew Artist Watercolor 24 Pan Set, as well as Altenew Round Artists Watercolor Brushes. It was so fun to just sit and paint! I look forward to turning the painting in to a card soon! 

The Altenew Marker Coloring Book has 24 pages of 12 designs (one with dark outlines one with light) on 80lb white cardstock. I look forward to trying this one out soon!

Spellbinders | Stitched Ornaments

Hello there, today I have a card and envelope to share with you using the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Club Kit as well as the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club Kit for November 2021. I love the dies you get in the Small Die of the Month Kit, perfect for Christmas and holiday cards. I used the larger ornaments on my card today but there is also a smaller ornament border too. These both have stitching lines but you could easily use them without stitching too.

For my card, I started off by die cutting the three standalone ornaments from the Spellbinders November 2021 Small Die of the Month Club Kit from Spellbinders cardstock. I used Lilac Blossom for the bottom layer and Purple Mist for the detail layer. With the detail layer, I threaded Altenew Metallic Thread in the centres to create a star like pattern. The ornament toppers were cut from Spellbinders Brushed Silver Cardstock. 

I added thread to the toppers and then adhered the ornaments to a panel of Onyx Cardstock with score lines on it (made with a score board and bone folder) with Bearly Art Glue. The thread was then secured at the back. I tied little bows at the front to look like they were hanging. I die cut the snowflake dies from the Spellbinders Chill Bear Etched Dies Set from Royal Amethyst Cardstock and added them to the ornaments with thin foam tape. 

The whole panel was then adhered to an A2 white card base with thin foam tape. I took the sentiment from the Spellbinders Mini Christmas Greetings Clear Stamp & Die Set and stamped it on to white cardstock with black ink. It was cut out and added to the card with more thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a scattering of Spellbinders Silver Mix Color Essential Gems. 

For the envelope, I took the snowflake image from the Spellbinders November 2021 Clear Stamp & Die Set of the Month and stamped it on to the envelope flap with FSJ Clear Ink. I applied FSJ Silver Embossing Powder and heat set. I thought it would add some sparkle to the envelope! 

I couldn't resist stamping the presents from the set on to white cardstock with black ink. They were coloured with Copic Markers and die cut with the dies. They were simply added to the front of the envelope as an added decoration because they are so cute!

Hero Arts | November 2021 My Monthly Hero Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, today we are celebrating the release of the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit and add-on products. This month is all about Christmas and the holidays and as I shared in my countdown post, the main kit features lots of adorable characters. I am sharing the other two characters today, plus a card using one of the add-on products. We are celebrating the release with a fun blog hop, more information on that below.

My first two projects feature the Hero Arts November 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit. Today I am sharing how you can easily add the tags on to cards but as you can see, I kept Santa as a tag on his own too. 

For the reindeer, I started off by die cutting the different layers to create his face. I used Sand and Chestnut Cardstock, as well as Peony for his ears. I cut apart the different sections (like the inside of his ears) and added the colours on top with Precision Glue. 

His scarf was cut from red cardstock (from last month's kit) and the I stamped the polka dot pattern from the kit stamp set on top with Unicorn Pigment Ink. When adhering his ears and antlers, I added the piece lower so that the tag hole was behind the head. You would never know that he was meant to be a tag! His eyes were cut from Pitch Black Cardstock with Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen added on top. His nose cut from red and Sparkle Clear Lacquer Pen added on top. 

He was added to a white tag cut cut using the Tag Infinity Dies. The sentiment from the stamp set was stamped on to Pitch Black Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the tag, along with the reindeer, with thin foam tape. The tag was then added to a Cranberry A2 card base (with scoring lines on) using more thin foam tape. 

Next up, Santa was cut from Antique Ivory Cardstock for his face, Dove White for his moustache and beard, Peony for his nose and Cranberry for his hat. I also cut his hat from the white glitter paper that you get in the kit and cut the bits off and added them to the red hat. 

His eyes were cut from Pitch Black Cardstock with Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen added on top. I then added the twine that comes in the kit through the top of the tag. I have to admit that I didn't finish off the back of this tag. You could do though by cutting a simple shape or by cutting the elements from white cardstock and placing them on the back. 

My next project uses the Merry Poinsettia Bunch Stamp Set along with the Frame Cuts, which are add-ons this month. I stamped the poinsettia image on to white cardstock with Intens-ified Black Ink. I coloured the image with Copic Markers and then die cut it using the Merry Poinsettia Bunch Frame Cuts. 

I took a Cherry A2 card base and using Ink Blending Brushes, blended on Red Royal Ink at the top. I then scored horizontal lines on to it using a score board and bone folder and splattered on Gold Glimmer Metallic Ink and set it aside to dry. I stamped the sentiment from the set on to Pitch Black Cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. 

I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set. They were cut in to a strips. I added the poinsettia piece on to the panel with foam tape (cutting the excess off) and then added the sentiments on top. To finish off, I added a few Poinsettia Sequins.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Merry Mole

Hello there and happy Clearly Besotted release day! I will be back later to share all the sets with you but in the mean-time. I have one last teasers to share with you. Today, I am using the super cute Merry Mole set. This set, as you can imagine by the name, is filled with lots of festive moles and mice that are just oh so cute!

I started off my card by stamping the mole, mouse and tree on mound image from the Clearly Besotted Merry Mole Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured them with Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and fussy cut them out with scissors. I took a panel of white cardstock and added a ground for the images, as well as some grassy bits using Copic Markers.

I then stamped the sentiment from the set to the right hand side with black ink. The panel was added to a white A2 card base and the images added on top with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added black glaze pen to the mole's eyes and Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the star and ornaments. I also added Tonic Nuvo White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to the hat.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Tangled in Tinsel

Hello there and welcome to day four of the Clearly Besotted November 2021 Teasers. Release day is tomorrow but I still have two more teasers to share with you. Today I am using the adorable Tangled In Tinsel set. This is a really fun set with lots of critters and a beautiful Christmas tree image.

I started off my tag by stamping the bunny and tree images from the Clearly Besotted Tangled In Tinsel Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured them with Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and fussy cut them out with scissors. 

I die cut a Clearly Besotted Tag Along Die from white cardstock and blended Distress Inks on top. I used Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo. I spritzed on Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain, followed by Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz. It was then set aside to dry. 

Once dry, I stamped the sentiment, from the Clearly Besotted A Little Sentimental Stamp Set, on the bottom of the tag with black ink. The tree image was added on top with tape runner and the bunny with foam tape. To finish off, I added twine through the top of the tag and Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the candy cane and star.
