Clearly Besotted Teasers | Sew Lovely

Hello there and welcome to Clearly Besotted May 2021 Release Day! I have one last teaser to share with you this morning, before my release preview video goes up in a couple of hours. My card today uses the new Crafty Characters Set. This set is perfect for the sewers in your life. I don't sew myself but we have a TV show here in the UK called Sewing Bee. Contestants have to sew different garments each week and the worst sewer is eliminated until the winner is announced in the final. I have to say, I am obsessed with it! I love the show and this set completely remined me of it!

I started off my card by taking the background image of the table, sewing machine, dress form etc. from the Clearly Besotted Crafty Characters Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I made a mask for it and then placed the Taylored Extpressions Rectangle Masking Stencil on top.

Using memo tape, I masked off the ground and blended Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers Distress Ink on the top half of the image. I then moved the memo tape and masked of the top section to blend Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink for the ground. The masks were removed and the images coloured using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area).

I took the cat image from the Clearly Besotted Crafty Characters Stamp Set and stamped her on to more white cardstock with black Ink. She was coloured using Copic Markers and fussy cut out with scissors. The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with tape runner and then the cat adhered on top with foam tape. I took the sentiment from the set and stamped it on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added Tonic Crystal Glaze to the turn button on the sewing machine.

I was trying to think about the colour scheme for this card. I don't use red that much but my friend's sewing machine is red so I wanted to incorporate it in to my card. I don't know if the aqua goes with as well as I had hoped, but hopefully my friend will still like the card! For more inspiration using the new sets, please head over to the Clearly Besotted Blog, Keren, Lisa and our wonderful guests Francine and Adelle. I will see you in a couple of hours for my release video! :)

  1. I think aqua and red go really well together, I often use it as a Christmas combination but it works all year round! Love your sweet scene and the beautiful colours. And I have enjoyed seeing all your teasers again this month, they have been fabulous! Xx
