Card Making Haul - April 2013

Here is my card making haul for the month of April. I made a large order of Hero Arts Shadow Inks again. I love these inks - they give a nice even colour and are great with stamps that need a block of colour. I also bought the new Doodlebug cardstock ... any thoughts on it? I am not sure about it at the moment. I also made a couple of ebay purchases of some older Doodlebug items ... couldn't resist!Anyway here is the video:

Hello there, not very good scheduling on my part but I have another bee card to share with you today. I saw this cute card by Debra Currier on Pinterest and it inspired me to make this card using the Clearly Besotted Stamps Build A Bug set. The greeting has been made on my PC using the Leftovers font. Oh and just have to say I am in LOVE with that dotty paper by Doodlebug!

Hello there, I usually make cards for a certain occasion i.e. family Birthday or for DT work but I don't often get to just make a card because I wanted to. Well here is a card just because. I used the very cute SSS Circle Friends set, kept it very simple adding a little Spica to the bee's wings.

Hi there, I just wanted to put a little quick note up to say that I apologise quite a few of my products links do not work. When websites revamp themselves their old links to products no longer exist. This means that a lot of the older links to two of the shops that I shop in a lot - Papertrey Ink and The Glitter Pot no longer work. I do apologise and I am trying to go through my links on InLinkz to change them. The major benefit of InLinkz is that it will automatically change it on my blog but if there are products that I can no longer find, they will disappear off the supplies list, sorry.

Belated Butterflies

Unfortunately while I wasn't well I missed my craft friend Ruth's Birthday. I always say, however, that it is better to be late than never so here is the card I have made her. I have used the Paper Smooches Flap Happy set - how gorgeous are those butterflies?! I have coloured them lightly with RV000, RV00, RV02 Copic Markers.

Birthday Butterflies - DTDF

Hi there, here is the latest card I have made for the DTDF Blog. For my card today I have used the beautiful Memory Box Piestra Tile die (big thanks to Jen for giving me some advice on cutting it) and added some Echo park paper behind the layer. I have combined it with the pretty MFT Die-Namics Butterflies and added an enamel dot to each one. The sentiment is by PTI.

WOYWW 203

Hello there, I thought I would participate in What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday again this week. As you can see there isn't actually that much on my desk. This is what it looks like on a daily basis. I have my Copic Markers to the left of my desk in Color Cubbies and my tool carousel to the right. What changes often is what is in the middle of these items.

 

I think I have finally got it how I like it though (for the time being anyway!). I have a white napkin holder (it is supposed to be distressed wood but I think I am going to paint it, don't do distressed you see!!) which holds my Martha Stewart Mini Score Board, my Martha Stewart note book (for blog/video ideas etc.) and then post it notes that I use to write the products that I have used to make my latest card. I have a Scotch tape dispenser and my craft mat too.

What is new for me is this basket I got it from The Glitter Pot today. I have decided to use it to hold my washi tape. I love it already! It only cost £1.45 so if I change my mind I haven't spent a fortune doing so.

Sunflower Birthday

Hello there, a while ago the gorgeous Thanks A Bunch stamp set was released by Clearly Besotted Stamps. A didn't get to play with it until now but I love those sunflowers. I have used the Once Upon A Time set for the sentiment also. My card has been CASE'd from THIS beautiful card by Barbara Anders.

I have been experimenting with the set up for photographing my cards. I am still not happy with it. I am trying different background colours etc and where I am taking the photos. Birthday Monkey - DTDF

Hello there, today I am sharing a card with you I made for the DTDF Blog. I have used the very cute monkey from the Whimsy Stamps Happy Birthday To You set for my card. Kept it really simple with the monkey and the sentiment (from the same set). I have coloured him with Copic Markers and added a little Glossy Accents to the cherry and his nose.

Apologies for the quality of the video. I am feeling a lot better than I was, I couldn't even get out of bed. Hi all, really sorry but I will be missing in action for a while. I have a bad case of the flu and have been in bed the last three days. Thank goodness for my iPhone that's all I can say! So Tweet! - DTDF

Today I am showing you a card I made for the DTDF Blog using the new CC Designs Tulip Peep which is available in the shop now. I have combined the cutie with paper from the MME On The Sunny Side Paper Pack. I have cut these using the MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags & Fishtail Flags Layers Stax. The sentiment is from the MFT Notched Tags set and I have finished the card off with MME Enamel Dots. The layout used is based on a sketch that I made, it was supposed to be used for the next DTDF Challenge. Since we have discontinued the challenges I thought I would use it anyway!

I haven't played along with What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday for a while so I thought I should play along again. So here is what my desk looks like today ...

 

This isn't actually my desk today, Wednesday, as this is a scheduled post but it is what my desk looked like on Tuesday! I thought I would give my tool carousel (from GLTC) a spring clean and I feel so much better for it. The majority of the tools/pens etc went back in to it after a clean but some of the pens were definitely past their best.

Happy Easter

Hello there, here is the card I made for my brother, SIL, niece and nephew for Easter this year. I had to use the Daffodil from the Clearly Besotted Stamps Spring Blooms set again since I loved it so much on my card below. This time I used the Retrosketches #56 sketch for the layout.
