VIDEO | Marker & Mousse Background + Video Hop

Hello there, today I have the absolute pleasure of taking part in a video hop celebrating Justine reaching 1 million views on her You Tube Channel. I am sure you already know her work but if not, check out her videos, they are fabulous! Everyone on the hop has created celebration themed cards so that we can celebrate along with Justine.

For my card I started off by taking a piece of watercolour paper and adding colour to this using the ink smooshing method (adding the colour on to a piece of acetate and smooshing this on to the cardstock). I usually use inks for this but today I am using the Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens that Tonic kindly sent me. These are similar to the Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens in that you can use them for the same things. I also added on some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse for some shimmer.

Once dry, the panel was cut down using the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamps Infinity Dies. The sentiment, from the Clearly Besotted A  Little Sentimental set, was stamped on to this using black ink. I then stamped one of the bunnies and one of the chicks from the Mama Elephant Party Animals stamp set on to some white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. These were coloured using Copic Markers (colours used listed below the supplies section). They were then cut out using the coordinating dies.

The background panel was added to an A2 Audrey Blue card base with foam sheet and then the critters added on top with foam pads. To finish off, I added a little Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen to their hats. I really like how that background turned out!

  6. This is so super cute Michelle! I LOVE that smooshed background, I just tried out the mousse you sent me the other day, but not fully got to grips with it yet. I like how you watered it down to include it as part of the background. They are a beautiful colour though aren't they! And the pearlescent shine is gorgeous. Thanks so much for the video too, Lisa x
