Taking A Little Break ...

Hello there, as you can probably guess from the title of the post, I am here today to let you know that I will be taking a little break for the rest of the month.

Instead of just not posting, I thought I should let you know in advance. I am taking a bit of time to catch up with design team work, make some videos, get some better lighting in my craft room, sort some bits out to sell and just generally try and catch up with things that I feel I need to do. I hope you all understand and you will still be here when I get back! In the mean time, I hope to still post here and there over on Instagram so it would be great if you would join me over there. Otherwise, I hope you have a great rest of the month. Hugs!

Flutter of Butterflies

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for my mum to say thank you for the Christmas presents she gave me. The card started life following THIS sketch but then deviated slightly. That often happens to me when following sketches! I was also inspired by the amazing Laurie Willison to add some embossed lines to my card base.

I started off by taking an A2 white card base and embossed lines on to it using a bone folder and score board. I scored the lines every half an inch but left an inch gap for the sentiment. The sentiment, from the MFT Thanks So Very Much set, was stamped using black ink.

I then took the MFT Flutter of Butterflies Lace dies and cut three of these from watercolour cardstock. I then painted these using Peerless Watercolours. Once dried, I spritzed them with a mixture of water and Perfect Pearls using a mini mister bottle.

Once dried for the second time, I added these to the card base with some liquid glue in the centres. To finish the card off, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparking Clear sequins.

When A Tiger Becomes A Cat

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the Mama Elephant Luna Animals stamp set. A cat is not part of the Chinese Zodiac but I thought the tiger could be made in to one, so that is what I did! :)

I started off by taking a panel of white cardstock and cutting this using the ME rectangle Femme Frame die. I then took the hat from the set and stamped this on to the panel first. This was then masked off with masking paper. The cat (or tiger!) was then stamped on top. When taking off the masking paper, it looks like the cat is wearing a part hat! The images were then coloured using Copic Markers.

The sentiment, from the ME Woodland Gifts stamp set, was stamped below the image. The panel was then adhered to an A2 white card base that I have added a piece of patterned paper to, using foam sheet. To finish off, I added white dots to the party hat with a gel pen, and Glossy Accents to the cat's nose.

I think he/she looks like a black stripy cat now :) I can't wait to have a play using the other animals in this set. Thanks so much for visiting me today. Hope you have a great day!

CB Teasers | You're So Tweet

Hello there, today is THE day! The new Clearly Besotted products will be available to purchase this evening at 10pm GMT. I have one last teaser to share with you today, using the adorable Some Birdie Loves You set.

I started off by stamping the bird (I think he is a toucan but I went with colouring him like brightly coloured parrot), the leaves and flowers on to some white cardstock. I then coloured them using Copic Markers and fussy cut them out with scissors. I then took an A2 white card base and stamped the branch image on to it. This again was coloured with Copic Markers.

I then die cut an MFT Pierced Square Frame die from white cardstock and added this around the branch with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped below in black ink. I then added the parrot on to the branch with foam tape and the flowers and leaves in the top right corner with tape runner. To finish off, I added clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and Glossy Accents to the parrot's beak.

CB Teasers | New Job

Hello there and welcome back to more Clearly Besotted Teasers. Not long to wait now, the new products will be release tomorrow at 10pm (GMT). My card today uses the new, super cute Still A Hoot stamp set.

I stamped the owl on to some white cardstock, coloured him in with Copic Markers and then fussy cut him out. I then die cut a panel of white cardstock using the ME Femme Frames rectangle die. I did this with a piece of paper from the MFT Fresh Squeezed Chevron pack also. This piece was then cut at an angle and added on to the white piece.

I stamped the sentiment, from the Many Mini Messages set, along the edge of the paper. This panel was added to a white A2 card base with foam sheet. The owl was then popped on top with more foam tape. To finish off, I added Glossy Accents to the owl's eyes and beak.
