CB Teasers | Deer To Me

Hello there and welcome to the August Teasers for Clearly Besotted. Stephanie kicked things off yesterday with sneak peeks of the sets and from now until the release on the 5th, myself and the rest of the DT will be sharing teasers with you. We also have some fabulous guests this month - Jen Nelson and Rubeena Naz. Today I am using the new super cute Deer To Me stamp set.

I started off with a piece of Strathmore Cold Pressed watercolour paper and I ran this through my Cuttlebug using the ME Femme Frames rectangle die. I then stamped two of the deer's from the set on to the paper using Archival ink. The image was coloured/painted using watercolours. I went with loose water colouring for this image, to kind of make it look like an image from a storybook.

Once dry, I stamped the sentiment from the new Message Me stamp set (also out on the 5th) with more Archival ink. The panel was adhered to a kraft A2 sized card base with foam tape.

WINSOR & NEWTON WATERCOLOURS: Deer - Burnt Sienna, Vandyke Brown, Paynes Grey. Grass - Lemon Yellow, Permanent Sap Green. Sky - Cobalt Blue, Cobalt Blue Turquoise.

I love the look of loose water colouring on images like this. I think I need a bit more practice with this technique though, I feel like it always ends up looking messy and not loose! Please do pop over and see Stephanie, who will not only have some amazing cards to share with you, she will also have links to the rest of the DT sharing today. Thanks so much for visiting me today, I hope you have a great day!

  3. So sweet! I would have definitely watercoloured these two lovely deer too... they are just made for watercolour... and you are right, they look like they have come straight out of a a story book. Lovely card, Lisa xx
