Clear & Sheer

Hello there, I recently took the Online Card Classes Clear & Sheer card class. I am now finally getting around to doing some homework for it (naughty student!). Today's card is of the sheer variety, using vellum. This card was inspired by the amazing Debby Hughes.

I started off by die cutting the Create A Smile Thanks Twice Die using watercolour cardstock (I wasn't sure at the time whether I was going to watercolour it or not). I then blended on Peacock Feather Distress Ink, making it darker at the bottom. I then die cut a pierce circle from white cardstock and some vellum leaves.

I took a piece of paper from the new MFT Watercolor Wash paper pad and cut this using the ME Femme Frame rectangle die. This was adhered to a white A2 card base. I then added the circle piece on top and cut off the excess to the side. The vellum leaves were added on top, followed by the thanks piece (adhered with clear foam tape). To finish off I added some sequins.

I definitely chanelled my inner Debby Hughes on this card! I love her soft layered look, while still keeping the card clean and simple. I seem to be having trouble with my photographs at the moment. They all appear to have a blueish or pinkish tinge to them, no matter what I do. So I do apologise for that, I am trying to work out how to solve it. Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you have a great week.

  3. This is beautiful! I keep seeing amazing things from this course, so as soon as I'm finished the Copic one (nearly!!! nearly!!) I'm signing up for this. It's beautiful - you are right it's so soft and yet so clean and simple too. Beautifully done. And I don't notice the colour on the photographs, but it's very bright outside (not complaining!), so maybe that's cutting it out. xx

  6. Beautiful and unstated design matched with true elegance, it as a real softest and the vellum adds the delicate touch. Sorry to hear about you having camera trouble, I understand as I've had that a lot at times. So hope you can sort out the problem and you don't have to purchase a new camera.
    Hugs
