Birthday Stars

Hello there, when I saw this card by Julie Dinn, I immediately thought that the elements would make a great, simple birthday card. I went with blues for the card and I think it work for both males and females.

I started off with a panel of white cardstock. I ran this through my Cuttlebug using the MFT Stitched Strip die. I then cut the little stars from the set from MFT Sno Cone and Blu Raspberry cardstock, as well as Bazzill Card Shoppe Gumball cardstock.

I then took the sentiment, from the MFT Birthday Bears stamp set, and stamped this inside two of the stitched lines. The little stars were added to the panel and then the whole panel added to an A2 card base made with MFT Grout Gray cardstock. To finish off, I added Glossy Accents to the stars.

Even though is it super simple, I do like how it came out and so happy to have another male card to add to the box. Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you have a great weekend.

Bear Hugs

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the Bear Hugs stamp set from Reverse Confetti. This is such a cute set, I couldn't resist it!

I started off by die cutting a panel of white cardstock using the Femme Frames rectangle die from Mama Elephant. I then stamped the koalas on the tree on to it using black ink. I did have to extend the tree trunk slightly using a black Copic Multiliner. I then stamped the sentiment from the same set to the side.

The image was coloured using Copic Markers, adding a little highlight to the koalas noses with white gel pen. I took a white A2 card base and adhered a sheet of paper from the MFT Lucky Prints paper pad on to the front. The image panel was then adhered on top with foam sheet.

Dahlias

Hello there, today I have a card to share that was a little out of my comfort zone. I am used to colouring images with a very blended look but having seen lots of Marika Rahtu's work with colour pencils, I decided to give this look a go.

I started off by stamping the WPlus9 Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlias stamp set on to a panel of white cardstock, using MFT Pink lemonade Hybrid ink. I then added a light layer of colour to the image using Copic Markers. I then went in with Polychromos coloured pencils to add in the detail.

The panel was added to a white A2 card base with foam sheet. I then stamped the sentiment, from the WPlus9 That Is All stamp set, on to some more white cardstock. This was cut out and added to the panel with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few sequins.

Ink Splats

Hello there, I really like the design elements on THIS card, so I decided to make another. I used the same supplies but changed up the layout to make a quick and easy male card.

I started off by cutting a panel of white cardstock, using a SSS Stitched Rectangle die. I then stamped the WPlus9 ink splats on to it using MFT dye inks. I cut the SSS Painted Birthday die twice from white cardstock and layered these up. The ink splats panel was adhered to a SSS Fog A2 card base with ATG, I then added the die cut words with Multi Medium Matte. To finish off, I added a few Doodlebug Sprinkles.

Simple as that! I love that it is quite flat for posting but still has some dimension with the die cuts being double height. Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you have a lovely day!
