VIDEO + GIVEAWAY | Craft Favourites 2015 - Adding Colour

Hello there, for my craft favourites 2015 today, I am taking about adding colour to images or to background pieces - anything o do with colour really!


Marker pens, water colour markers, pencils, water colours - I love them all. I will also briefly talk about some watercolour accessories that I find helpful to use as well.

I would have to say mine are the copics, but after seeing your creations earlier this year I'm eager to try the Zig Clean Colour real brush pens as soon as I get my hands on some! For 2016, I want to push myself a bit more and experiment with the Gansai Tambi watercolours. Again, thanks for the opportunity to win and thanks for everything you've shared in 2015!!

  9. I've made most of my 'colour' purchases this year and my absolute favourites are Distress Inks and Inktense pencils. I was lucky enough to receive some Gansai Tambi paints for Christmas so I'm looking forward to having a play with those soon! Thanks for this great information and for another chance to win xx

I have much the same collection of mediums, but I especially liked those collapsible water pots Michelle and thank you for the chance of winning those brushes (two sizes that are on my wishlist!).   15. I love to watercolour my images, but I'm still making mistakes and learning more every time I try it, ahaha! I also really like using markers, and my fave coloring find this year were the super cheap alcohol markers from TGR, they're a steal!

  17. Hi Michelle, I mainly use copics but have had a go at water colouring this year and hope to do more, I got the crafters companion spectrum aqua pens so going to try them more next year.

  19. I love to colour with copics, it is always my first choice. I have used the Zig Real Brush Pens as well, but I always seem to make a mess of it and it never looks as nice as in your videos ;-) Need more practise :-)

  21. Copics and distress inks are still my go to choices for coloring. Recently I purchased some Lyra polycolor pencils so I hope to learn more about how to use them in 2016. Thanks for all your great videos!

  22. Great video Michelle. The brushes look fantastic. I have the Zig Markers and Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours but I'm ashamed to say I haven't tried them yet. My promarkers are still my favourite medium for colouring but I really want to try watercolouring in 2016. Thanks for the chance to win x x

    Like you I enjoy coloring with a variety of mediums, but if I were forced to chose only one, I would have to with Copics. They are so easy to use, come in such lovely colors and the don't hurt my wrists! I am enjoying this series you are doing, it is fun to see your favorites.   48. Spectrum noir or copics, so many different colors to choose and spectrums are relatively economical. I also love my Bic xtra fine point markers for those tiny spaces that are difficult to color neatly.

  53. What an amazing giveaway!!! For me it really depends on my mood for that day. I love my Copics, then there is my Inktense Pencils. ( just fabulous),then there is my Distress Markers and pads ( I am crazy over how these blend together and can be used with water)and last but not least by any means is my Kuretake Gansai Watercolors ( so rich and beautiful. I would really love to try the Zigs Real brush Markers but for now they are gong to have to wait but I guess i do tend to reach for my Copics the most as of right now.

  56. Coloring is so therapeutic for me. I love my Copic sketch markers. I just received the Inktense pencils for a present and am really excited to use them. I have often wanted to try the Kuretaki watercolors but have been hesitant. Thanks for all the inspiration you provide.

  65. Thanks for sharing. I get in a rut turning to my Copics and distress inks over and over again, but I do love them. Thanks for reminding me of all the other awesome coloring mediums! I want to get some of that masking tape and those Japanese watercolors. I'll have to see if hubby can pick me up some of those the next time he's in Japan. :)

  72. I have a 72 set Inktense, a 48 set of Faber Castell Eco pencils and a few of the Stabilo Aqua pencils and I love to use them with a blender pencil from Derwent! Hugs xx

  87. My Copic sketch markers are my #1 go to for coloring. I also used them to color printable vinyl when doing some home decor pieces! For inks, I'm a new fan of Brutus Monroe chalk inks. I find them to be extremely versatile and quite lush in color.

This year I've used a lot of watercolouring, but my all time favourite is just plain simple coloured pencils I bought ages ago of no known brand but it comes in so many different shades it does the work for me. I find it quite difficult to colour with distress pens directly onto the image, so I rather use a waterbrush and a pallette.
