Thank You

Hello there, I am back with my final card that I made as part of the Online Card Classes Background Check class. My card today uses the background I made on day four. This uses a technique by Laura Bassen. She used the negative of a cover plate for the background.

I first took the Hexagon Cover plate by PTI and ran this through my Cuttlebug, cutting it from white cardstock. With the pieces still intact I added strips of post it tape over one side so that I could pick this up later (Laura Bassen used Press N Seal but sadly we cannot get this in the UK). I then added foam dots to the back of the hexagon pieces.

The whole piece was then picked up and adhered to a white A2 card base. The hexagons that had the foam on the back stuck, whereas the other bits didn't it. Keeping it together like this means that you get perfect placement of the pieces (hexagons in my case). The hexagons were coloured using Copic Markers in BG11, BG13 and BG49.

The sentiment, from the Mama Elephant Many Thanks set, was stamped on to another piece of white cardstock and then cut out using the banner die from the Clearly Besotted Tag Along Die Collection. This was added to the card with thin foam tape and then I finished off by adding three Doodlebug Sprinkles.

Despite taking ages to share my cards with you (I'm sorry about that), I really loved taking part in this class. It has made me look at ways to incorporate more backgrounds in to my cards. Thanks so much for visiting me today. Hope you have a great weekend!
