Sending Hugs

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for a friend who I felt needed to be sent some hugs and smiles. I used Laura Bassen's technique of the die cut popped up window. I first stamped the Mama Elephant panda from the Pandamonium stamp set on to a panel of white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I took the die and cut it leaving the foot intact. I then cut a window out around it using my craft knife.

I coloured the little panda lightly using Copic Markers - a little C1 and blender for the tummy and face, along with a little R000 for the cheeks. I stamped the sentiment from the SSS Handwritten Sentiments set below. I then took a white card base (3.5x5") and inked where the window would show through, using TH Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Broken China. The panel was then popped on top using foam tape.

As the card was smaller than usual I made a little envelope using my WRMK Envelope Punch Board and some Papertrey Ink paper.

A little, simple card but I hope it made my friend smile a little. Thanks so much for visiting me today. Hope you have a great day!

  4. What a lovely card Michelle and I'm sure your friend will love it!!

But can I ask how did you do your panda without having to cut him all out? Could you do a tutorial please?? I've seen someone do it if the image is too big and they are cutting around it but never in an aperture (which I know you cut by hand) where the image is grounded??

    Brilliant! :D

    Big hugs
    Roni :O) xox
