Happy 3rd Birthday LIM

Hello there, today I have the absolute honour to be Guest Designing over at Less Is More for their 3rd Birthday celebrations. If you have been following my blog for a while you will know that I have been taking part in this challenge (on and off) since it first started. I knew back then, when Mandi & Chrissie set it up that it was going to be popular, and I have loved watching it blossom over the years.

For the Birthday Celebrations Jen and Chrissie kindly asked me if I would like to take part and of course I said yes straight away! This week it is colour week and they have chosen Rainbow. I don't usually mix that many colours together on my cards but I have to say, I loved making my samples and using so much colour :0)

My first card uses the Clearly Besotted Stamps Flower Arrangement set along with the With Love set, for the beautiful sentiment. I stamped the flowers along in rainbow colour order and then added the leaves and the sentiment.

For my next card I wanted to try and blend the colours together like you would get in a rainbow so I made a mask from Eclipse Making Paper and then die cut a circle from it. I adhered this to the front of a white piece of card and then went to town blending the Distress Inks with the Blending Tool. It is such a beautiful sight when you lift the mask off - I always think it is going to look worse than it does but it always amazes me how beautiful it comes out! I then stamped and white embossed the sentiment, from the CBS Say It In Style set on top and added a little heart which I have coated with Enamel Accents.

My final card for today uses the SSS Mosaic Heart Stencil. I again used Distress Inks to add the colour, this time with an ink dauber (for more precise placement of the ink). The 'LOVE' has been cut from black CS four times for each letter and layered them up with a dash of Wink of Sella on the top.

I would like to just take this opportunity to thank Jen and Chrissie for having me over at LIM this week and I am looking forward to seeing what everyone creates. Happy 3rd Birthday LIM! Oh and today starts off the teasers for the new Clearly Besotted Release. Please pop by Stephanie's blog for the first teasers and I will be back tomorrow for the start of mine :0)

  2. Wow, Michelle! Such gorgeous cards.
I particularly like the cbs rainbow flower one (maybe because I recently bought this set & have yet to have a play).
Do you think I would need the pti pads to get such a good solid colour, or would memento be equally good?
    Thanks,
    Maxine

  5. Hi Maxine, you could definitely use Memento inks. If you did not get a perfect impression you could go over each image twice, a stamp positioner would help with this. I hope that helps, thanks so much for your lovely comment :) x
