Get Well Soon

I have this card following Nicola's (My Paper World) sketch #5. I have stamped Feeling Poorly with Brilliance ink and then coloured her in with watercolour pencils. I have then cut her out and mounted her to bright pink CS. She has been added to a base of more bright pink CS followed by a layer of light pink CS that has been put through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. I have added ribbon accross the bottom of the bright pink layer and added a get well soon peel off above. 3 little gem stones added to the top.

Thanks Dad

I have made this card for my Dad to say thank you for coming round to put up some new lights in my house. The image is from Microsft Clip Art and I have coloured it in with watercolour pencils, cut out and added to the base. The base has been made by layering some Dovecraft paper on to some Bazzill CS. The greeting has been stamped and then cut out into a bookplate, this has been attached with small brads.

I made this little notecard for accompany the brads to Jo that she won. I have simply stamped straight on to the card. The HOTP greeting with stamped Stazon ink and the A Muse dragonfly with chalk ink. I have then added 3 gem stones in the corner.

My First Sizzix Character!

Apologies I haven't been around much lately. I have been so busy with university work that I have had hardly any time to make any cards sadly. I had a 2,500 word essay to do last week (now handed in) and this week I have a 20 minute presentation to do on Thursday (Argghhh my worst nightmare!) so I am busy writing and preparing for that.

Thankfully I had a small amount of time to make a card for my cousin who graduated a little while ago. I decided to get on and make the card without the PB stamp that I wanted as I was running out of time. I saw the Sizzix graduation outfit at The Glitter Pot and thought it was ideal. I have simply made the sizzix character with lots of different CS and added this to a DL card blank with 3D foam pads. I have added a strip of black Bazzill Bling CS accross the bottom of the card and added a Mini Message, again with 3D foam pads. I had to draw the face on myself (hoping to get my hands on the rub-ons soon), I know it is not great but it is my first attempt. My cousin is a fellow cardmaker so I hope she will understand the thought that went into making this card! Apologies the pic is so small but this is as big as I can get it!

CS: Craftwork Cards Softies, Bazzill Bling, Bazzill, Payper Box. ACCESSORIES: Sizzix Dress Ups Body die set, Sizzix Dress Ups Girl Hair die set, Sizzix Dress Ups Gradulation die set, Craftwork Cards Mini Messages.

Natty K's Blog Candy Challenge

Natty K over at Crafting Fun! is giving away some lovely blog candy. The challenge is to make a birthday card mainly with the colour pink. Here is my effort. I have stamped Elzybells NA Birthday Girl with Brilliance ink and then coloured her in with watercolour pencils. I have then cut her out using my Nestabilities dies and added her to the base with 3D foam pads. The base has simply been made by adding a piece of pink card that has been put through my Cuttlebug using my new Swiss Dots embossing folder on to a small card blank made from Papertrey CS. I have then added a Craftwork Cards Mini Message that has been swiped with pink ink around the sides to finish.

This card has been made for my unkle using one of the stamps that I got for Christmas. I have stamped the dog with Stazon ink and coloured him in with watercolour pencils. I have then cut him out and mounted him to brown CS and 3D foamed him to base. The base has simply been made by laying up a piece of Doodlebug paper on to some more brown CS. I have then stamped the sentiment by Hero Arts out in the corner. I am really happy with how this card came out in the end :0)

Good Luck

I made this little card for Julie at Julie's Japes to say good luck for The Full Monty the Musical which she is staring in and opens soon. I have been inspired by a lovely card made by Nichole Heady who used ladybirds as the focul point. For my card I have used my Beautiful Blooms set by Papertrey and stamped one of the larger flowers out directly onto a card blank I have made. I have then stamped out mini flowers randomly and added little gem stones to the centres. I love how the chalk ink gives a lovely texture to the images. I have finished off the card by stamping the Studio G sentiment on to a seperate piece of card and cut this out rounding two of the corners. This has been added to the base with 3D foam pads. The two bottom corners of the card have also been rounded using a corner rounder punch.

STAMPS: Beautiful Blooms by Papertrey Ink, Studio G. INK: VersaMagic Pretty Pertunia. CS: Papertrey Ink Stampers Select. ACCESSORIES: EK Success corner rounder punch, Papermania gem stones.

Can Anyone Help?

Can anyone help me please? I am desperately trying to find a Penny Black stamp. It is the hedgehog with the motarboard and scroll for graduation. I have looked all over on the internet including The Glitter Pot, Happy Stampers, Sir Stampalot, Creative Living, First Class Crafts, Capture The Magic, The Craft Barn and none of them are even showing it let alone sold out. I do not have a picture of the stamp or the name sorry but if anyone has any other ideas where I could look I would areally appreciate it. I would check eBay but I don not know the stamps name to search!

A BIG thank you to everyone who had a look for me, it is called "A Scholar!" I cannot find it in any UK online shops and although I can see a picture of it on a US website it is out of stock. Actually I need the image fairly quickly so buying from the US would be a bit of a problem anyway. I so wish that I had bought it when I saw it last year. What a shame. I do really like the cow one, thank you for your suggestions, however, I do not want my cousin to think that I am calling her a cow!!

UPDATE 16/02/08: I have found out that the stamp has been discontinued so I doubt that I will now bw able to find it anywhere. A very kind lady is going to have a look when she travels to New York for it for me so fingers crossed. Thank you for all the suggestions including finding a card on eBay with it on. A good friend of mine kindly asked the person who made it if I could buy a couple of the images from her but it wasn't her stamp to do them which is a shame. Never mind, I have learnt from my lesson. When I see something I want ... buy it before it sells out!! ;0) I think I have found another idea using a Sizzix person die.

I have made the base by layering up patterned paper on to a card blank and then adding a strip of blue card that has been embossed with my Cuttlebug. I have printed off the greeting from my PC and with great difficulty managed to die cut this out and get it almost straight! This has been added with a brad and 3D foam with ink added around the edges.

Flower Girl

My new Elzybells NA stamps came this week so I thought I would make this quick card with the Flower Girl. The NA version of the Elzybells stamps are much smaller than the UK version so are nice for small cards. I have stamped Flower Girl with Stazon and then coloured her in with watercolour pencils. She has then been punched out using a scalloped oval punch and added to the base with 3D foam pads. I have made the base by making a small square card blank from Bazzill card and adding a strip of darker Bazzill card near the bottom. I have stamped the sentiment below this and added a flower to the top with a tiny gem stone in the centre.

STAMPS: Elzybells NA, Papertrey Ink. INK: Stazon Jet Black. CS: Bazzill. ACCESSORIES: Woodware 2" Scalloped Oval Punch, Prima Got Flower Deux, Papermania gem stone.

Sue's Blog Candy Challenge

Sue at Slumber Cards has got some lovely Lola stamps up for grabs as her blog candy. The challenge is to make a card with lilac in it as this is her favourite colour. The challenge closes on the 16th Feb. Here is my entry which has been inspired by a card in the latest issue of Beautiful Cards magazine. My mum's favourite colour is also lilac so I have made this card for her for Valentines. I have cut out a scalloped rectangle from pearlecent card and run this through my Cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirls folder, this has been added to a pearlescent square card blank. I have added brads to 3 die cut blooms and attached these to the card with foam pads. I have swiped the message oval with lilac ink and attached to the card also with 3D foam pads. Ted's Cake

I have made this card for no other reason than to ink up my new stamp! I have stamped Ted's Cake and coloured her in using watercolour pencils. I have then cut the image out using my Nestabilities dies. This has been added to the base with 3D foam pads. The base has been made by simply adding strips of patterned paper in various lengths to the card blank. Simple! I will add a greeting when I know who I am giving it to!

I have also added a gem stone to the smaller flower. I have stamped the sentiment onto a seperate piece of card and cut out using a corner rounder punch on the corners on one side. I have added a strip of lilac card accross the middle and added a strip of organza ribbon accross the bottom of this using my Xyron machine. A Prima Sprite has been added to the top of the strip with a brad. A Thank you rub-on has also been added to the strip.

Tagged - The Middle Name Game

These are the rules:-
You must post the rules before you give your answers. You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and need to read your blog for details.

I have been tagged by Natty K so here goes ... my middle name is Louise:

Love craft shopping nearly as much as making cards!
Oysters - something I do not wish to try!
Umbrella's - something I am always losing!
Internet - something I spend far too much time on!
Student Nurse is what I am!

Well ... you all wanted to know that didn't you!! I think everyone has been tagged now but if you haven't you have just been tagged by me!
